Oftentimes when we express ourselves as African American people we are labeled as controversial, angry or crazy! We are often looked down on, looked pass or simply ignored! However, our life, our struggles from past to present as melanated people is full of controversies in itself! The pain, hardship and turmoil our people endured and still are enduring was and still is traumatic and we are still left to pick up the pieces of belittlement, unfairness, demonization, ridicules, brutality, unjustness, inequality and so much more! Today an artist from McClellanville South Carolina will be sharing her depiction of OUR history through the artistry of visual Arts through fiber textiles created and displayed on canvas! Her exhibit will be held at the Charleston City Gallery located @ 34 Prioleau Street Chas SC from 5:00 to 7:00! If you and your family are available to come and view her art & meet this extraordinarily talented, loving, passionate artist I ask that you please come out and show her some support & tell her Nina sent you! Her work is a representation of US as a people and it is important that we support each other because if we don't then who else will!
