Our ducks finally started laying eggs and today we got to taste them. I have never had a duck egg to eat and, well, it's delicious. On the side is a piece of think cut bacon. Home cured (by John) and farm raised red wattle hog for us by our farm mentor Mary Adore.
You always eat good on the farm!

This is the first time all year I've had time to make pickled eggs. John and I love adding turmeric to the pickle brine. It dyes the eggs yellow on the outside, adds and extra flavour profile and adds antiinflammatory health benefits. The only other herb added is dill.

Chickens are doing well on pasture. They love being moved to fresh ground daily for fresh greens and grubs!!
