Beer or Wine — Which Came First?
Short answer:
Nobody really knows.
Food historians will tell you both beer and wine probably showed up by accident — long before anyone decided to make them on purpose. Fermentation just… happened. And humanity wisely went with it.
What we do know:
Both beer and wine depend on stable, settled civilizations
Archaeological evidence confirms people were enjoying both by the Neolithic period
Some brewing evidence may be slightly older — but historians aren’t calling a winner
So which came first?
Debatable.
Which one deserves a seat at the bar tonight?
Both. Obviously.
History didn’t choose sides.
We won't either.

This week’s Weiner Wednesday guest star is not here for mild-mannered lunch behavior.

Meet the JALAPENO POPPER PUP —
our 1/4 lb premium Angus beef dog loaded with Spin’s wonton jalapeno cream cheese filling, shredded cheddar cheese, and 2 strips of bacon tucked in for backup.

It’s basically a jalapeno popper that got tired of being an appetizer and found a better bun.

Available this Wednesday only, while it lasts.

Small bar life is when a dream, a “put it on the menu” idea, a “pour it in a glass” thought, and a few emergencies all walk into the same room at the same time.

Lately, “wearing a few hats” turned into a full costume closet, a junk drawer, and three clipboards nobody can find.

For the record, by "hats" we mean: bartender, server, cook, cleaner, dishwasher, payroll, HR, accountant, schedule juggler, menu wrangler, flavor tinkerer, professional marketing guru, crisis responder, legal compliance translator, amateur investigator, lobbyist, computer genius, master equipment mechanic, electrical engineer, detour decoder and professional finder-of-the-thing-that-was-literally-right-here-five-minutes-ago.

So sometimes our online posting slows down.
Sometimes the list has lists.
Sometimes the backburner has a backburner…
y’all know what we mean.

But the good news?

We’re still here. Still pouring. Still cooking. Still fixing whatever decided to act up five minutes before the rush. Still figuring it out one shift, one phone call, one missing receipt, and one “what happened now?” at a time.

Thanks for hanging with us, checking in, showing up, ordering food, grabbing drinks, telling your friends, and keeping Spinners in your thoughts while downtown survives its orange-cone personality crisis.

So when we go a little quiet online, we’re not ignoring you — we’re just knee-deep in the kind of bar life that doesn’t photograph well.

May’s almost out the door, and so is our Blueberry Pineapple Tequila Sour.

If you’ve been “meaning to try it,” this is your warning shot.

A little sweet, a little tart, a little tequila doing what tequila does best — making the group chat sound like a good idea.

Blueberry, pineapple, lime, grapefruit soda, and Jose Cuervo all packed into one glass for our May Drink of the Month.
