Little River/NMB friends. If you have seen this sweet furry face can you please reach out to Russell immediately. He is a great resource to our community and needs our help!

If you’ve lived around here for any length of time, chances are you’ve heard of Russell Cavender, better known as “The Snake Chaser.” For decades, Russell has dedicated countless hours to rescuing sick, injured, and misplaced animals. My guess is he’s helped save thousands of lives over the years.

Now it’s our turn to help him.

Russell’s beloved dog, Mabel, was frightened by the fireworks Saturday night and ran away. Despite searching tirelessly, he still hasn’t been able to find her.

Russell lives in the Longs/Little River area near the intersection of Highways 90 and 57. If you see Mabel or have any information about where she might be, please call Russell at 843-902-5706.

Happy Carolina Day!

Today we celebrate Carolina Day, honoring the courageous South Carolina Patriots who defended Sullivan's Island on June 28, 1776.

Against overwhelming odds, their victory over the British helped protect Charleston, inspired the iconic crescent symbol on our state flag, and became one of the earliest and most important American victories of the Revolutionary War.

Nearly 250 years later, we proudly remember the bravery, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of those who fought for liberty.

BIG NEWS HERE!! Our friend Melodie is leaving us Sunday! We are happy and sad at the same time! She finished her degree (YAY!) and landed an amazing position (YAY!) but her last day has to be Sunday (BOO!) So after 12 years she is saying goodbye! So please stop by Friday, Saturday or Sunday to see her one last time!
