Dear local Village (Please Share)
I am heartbroken to share that our beloved friend and dear frequent visitor to Beach Dreams Market, Melissa Jordan legendary “ Oyster Mama” artist, and beacon of light was called to heaven this past Wednesday evening February 11, 2026
Melissa wasn't just a regular here at our shop; she was in the heart of our little community. As I watch her sit in her special corner of our lobby, something magical would happen. Strangers would become friends within minutes. She had an unmistakable way of making everyone around her feel at ease, cherished, and genuinely happy. The best way I can explain it is that she had "sunshine power" that extraordinary gift she secretly placed in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Her unique flair was unmistakable too. The way she dressed, the way she moved through the world. No one else could pull it off, but Melissa did it with unique grace, and love.
At Christmas, I surprised her with a name tag for the table where she loved to sit. It carries a quote from a book we both treasure: The boy, the mole the fox and horse .
I engraved a quote on it. “You are enough” and Now how true that is as it echoes .This what she gave to all of us. I am deeply sad to say but not enough time.
Melissa leaves behind her loving husband, Lonnie; her daughters, Maggie and Jessie;her son-in-law, Jeremy; and countless friends who are forever changed by her presence.
Her family invite you to celebrate her life with us On the beach
