To our Ponza Family,
For over 50 years, our family has been honored to serve this community, beginning when my father, Raffaele Sandolo, opened this location as, Pasta plus. Over the years the names may have changed onto Pasta Fair then John’s Best, and now Ponza Italian Kitchen— but the love, warmth, and care behind every meal has always stayed the same.
Three generations of our family have worked side-by-side in this kitchen, serving generations of yours. We’ve celebrated your birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and milestones with you. We’ve watched your children grow up, come back as adults, and bring their own families. We are more than just a restaurant, it’s a living part of Norwalk’s story, and of our family’s soul.
It breaks our hearts to share that Ponza Italian Kitchen will be temporarily closing our doors while we work through an access issue that is currently beyond our control.
Over these decades, our restaurant has grown and evolved, but the heart behind it has never wavered. We’ve held onto one thing above all — love. Love for great food, for family, and for the people who walk through our doors. This place has been more than a restaurant; it’s where laughter has echoed off the walls, where friendships have been made, and where memories have been served right alongside every meal. The connections made through our establishment has always made this place feel like home.
Our temporary closer is due to an access issue affecting our property. Until the Town of Norwalk, our new neighbors and ourselves have come to an agreement to ensure that our customers have a safe and reliable entrance and exit, we must close.
On behalf of our team, we want to reach out for your help in showing the Town of Norwalk our meaning of love and family. We’ve weathered though times before, through COVID-19 when the world shut down, we stayed open with courage, cooking for our community and opening our kitchen into yours. Around that time when we safely and efficiently lit up our outdoor patio with live music, gathering people to feel hope again. Even when we had doubts, you have shown up- ordering takeout, buying gift cards, and cheering us on.
During this time, we are hoping our community will stand beside us as we once have before. As we navigate the unexpected, we’d love to rally our community around the memories that made Ponza what it is. If Ponza has ever been part of your story, we kindly ask you to share it. Post your photos, your favorite moments, your stories, your laughs, your “remember that night when…” favorites. Tag us and drop your love using so we can feel that warmth and so others can too.
Your support, your voices, and your memories mean more than you know. We hope to keep you informed about our progress on our social media pages. Find us on Facebook: Sandolo Instagram:
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your unwavering support, your friendship, and your trust. Our family and staff are forever grateful, and we can’t wait to what our future holds.
With love and gratitude,
Veronica Sandolo
