A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at Sandy Ridge to celebrate Bastille Day. What a delightful evening it was…filled with laughter, wonderful conversation, exceptional wines, and a menu inspired by the flavors of France. Sharing the evening with all of you made it truly special, and we were especially honored to celebrate a very memorable birthday together!

As we raise one final toast to Bastille Day, we’re already looking ahead to another extraordinary celebration.

2026 marks the 50th Anniversary of the historic Judgment of Paris. This legendary 1976 blind tasting forever changed the wine world. In a stunning upset, a panel of France’s most respected wine experts unknowingly selected California wines over some of France’s most prestigious Bordeaux and Burgundies, forever reshaping the global perception of fine wine and putting California on the world’s wine map.

To commemorate this remarkable milestone, Sandy Ridge will host a very special wine experience this September, featuring an unforgettable evening of exceptional wines, inspired cuisine, and the fascinating story behind one of the most influential moments in modern wine history.

🇺🇸 July 4th Cooking Pointers from Chef Jamie🧑‍🍳

Whether you’re grilling for 4 or 40, here are a few chef-approved tips to help make your Independence Day celebration delicious and safe!

🔥 1. Preheat the Grill
A hot grill (400 degrees ish ***see note below) means better sear marks, less sticking, and more even cooking. And DON’T “smoosh” your burgers with a spatula when cooking, that only squeezes out their natural juices.

🌡️ 2. Use a Meat Thermometer
Don’t guess—check!
• Burgers: 160°F
• Chicken: 165°F
• Hot Dogs: Heat until steaming hot.

🧊 3. Keep Cold Foods Cold
Potato salad, pasta salad, fruit, and dips shouldn’t sit out for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if it’s over 90°F).

🥩 4. Never Reuse Marinade
If raw meat touched it, discard it or boil it thoroughly before using as a sauce.

🍉 5. Prep Ahead
Wash fruit, slice vegetables, and make side dishes the day before so you can actually enjoy your guests.

🥤 6. Hydrate
Water is the best side dish on a hot July afternoon.

🍔 7. Toast the Buns
Just 30 seconds on the grill adds texture and keeps burgers from becoming soggy.

🧼 8. Keep a Clean Plate
Never place cooked food back on the same platter that held raw meat.

🌽 9. Butter Corn After Grilling
It melts beautifully and lets the natural sweetness shine.

❤️ 10. Most Important…
The best memories aren’t made by perfect recipes, they’re made around the table with family and friends.

* 450–550°F: Steaks, burgers with a hard sear, pizzas
