Someone has decided the gooney bird displayed behind the bar at Solar Brewing should have a new home. Since it was never formally designated as property we owned, I won't consider it stolen, and I forgive whoever came behind the bar to get it for entering a space that is not for customers, but please do not go behind our bar without staff permission again.

I only have one other request. Please display the goo ey bird in a location. That spreads as much love and joy as it did while it resided at Solar Brewing. Thanks.

It's been a while since I changed the road sign. Double Cherry Pie is coming to Solar Brewing on Monday from 2-4, but this is an important show, and I want you all to know it. Solar Brewing is a peaceful place to appreciate the art of beer along with the best pizza and wings on the island. However live music has a place. The show is an experiment. Monday afternoon is not a busy time, but if having live music changes that for us, it's a win for Solar and win for DCP.

But it's more than that. There are a lot if local musicians making their living, but locking in a venue can be tough. Maintaining an audience performance after performance is no small feat either. This is a proof of concept. I'm not promising to go back to music every week, and I likely won't, but if y'all prove we can put on a good show now and then and folks will show up, you can have more.

Some come on out and support Double Cherry Pie. Scott and Jason are more than just talented musicians and masters of showmanship, they are also my personal friends, and you will not find two better humans, so come have my event special drink--Dirty Shirley's Cherry--and enjoy the best show in town.

Double Cherry Pie has a show with us on 3/23 from 2-4. Yes, that's a Monday, but why no? Don't sit home and be bored when you could come see two of the best humans I know put on the best show your going to see. To celebrate their show, I have concocted a beverage similar to a Shirley Temple, but it is made from hard cherry cider and ginger mead with a cherry garnish. Normally an alcoholic Shirley Temple is known as a Dirty Shirley, but my mom said I need to lean into the cherry aspect since the band is Double Cherry Pie, so as per my mom's suggestion, this drink shall be known as Dirty Shirley's Cherry. Scott of Double Cherry Pie has proclaimed my mom is a genius. Scott is not wrong.
