Opal (Elsa) and Salad have found their families and we’re so happy for these two!

Opal’s adopters have been coming to Cleo’s since the beginning and have gone far out of their way to show us that they care about what we’ve been working on here at Cleo’s. When Autumn was in the hospital and after she got home they brought us meals, when they could see that we were struggling they invited us over for dinner and reminded us how important it is to take care of our mental health. Leslie and Jonathan thank you so much for how much you’ve supported us🩵💛Running this business has been hard on us but people like you coming in are what gave us the strength to keep pushing for our dream.

Hey y’all it’s looking like this construction is going to take longer than we expected and we will be closing at least until we have a safe entry into the cafe and maybe longer to prepare for the sale of the business.

We have recently gotten the cafe officially LISTED for sale, this will streamline the sale process and potential buyers will be able to easily review the details of the sale.

Thank you to everyone that has supported and continues to support our small business, we truly hope to see it continue bringing people together over a shared love of cats!

Hope everyone is enjoying the start of spooky season! They’ve started construction on the exterior of our building! For safety reasons we’ll have to close on Friday, we plan to be open Saturday and Sunday if we can do so safely but stay tuned😊

We have our first round of interviews starting tomorrow! We have lots of qualified applicants and currently only filling one position so PLEASE don’t take it personally if we don’t move forward with your application.

We may end up hiring for another position before we sell so please don’t be discouraged if you’re not selected for this position! When we get closer to selling we will speak with potential buyers about keeping on any current staff so there’s a chance that the position will continue post-sale *THAT IS NOT GUARANTEED* once we have a sale finalized all staffing decisions will be up to the new owner of the business.

We have a new answer for our most asked question, YES, we’re hiring! This will probably come as a surprise because we’re preparing to sell the cafe but there’s a lot that goes into the sale of a business and having help with daily operations will free us up to prepare and make improvements before handing it off to a buyer.

We have had so so many people ask us about working at the cafe and right now we’ll be starting with just one hire, we anticipate a high volume of applicants based on how often we get asked whether we’re hiring so please don’t take it personally if we don’t move forward with your application, we’ll only be running a set amount of interviews with those that have experience closest to what we’re looking for in the position.

We’re looking for a seasonal employee who loves being around cats, has customer service experience, and knows how to make coffees & lattes on a barista level! This is a customer facing role that will focus on barista work & tasks in the cat lounge (Litterbox cleaning, food & water refills, lounge cleaning/organization)

Hey y’all! We’ve decided to cut back the days that we’re open while we work on preparing the cafe to be sold, we are currently meeting with interested parties and going over details of the business and trying to find the right person/people to sell the business to.

Figuring out this process is all new territory for us but we are working with knowledgeable people on the right way to go about it and we feel confident that we’ll find someone who’s ready to take on this business. Of course, that’s not a guarantee so there’s still the possibility that we’ll end up having to close the business but we are doing the things that are in our control to keep it going after we step away. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported and continues to support our cafe and has given their time and energy to creating safe spaces for cats!

Hey y’all we’ve had lots of people respond to our announcement and are overwhelmed by the love and supportive words from the community!

We have scheduled multiple interest meetings to discuss details around the sale and had quite a few people reach out and say nothing about themselves and ask for financial info or documents about the business.

To be clear we will not be discussing the financials of our business with everyone that asks, that is a discussion we will be having with the people that are seriously considering the purchase and have taken the time to contact us, set a meeting, and have a conversation with us.

We are so glad that there’s this much interest in purchasing our little cat cafe and we’re holding on to hope that we will find a buyer and it will continue to be a haven for people to relax and unwind and for cats in our community to find homes.

Hey y’all, after having talked about this for weeks we’ve made an extremely difficult choice, which is separating from this business. Our mental health has been continuing to worsen and so we’ve chosen to step away.

Our goal is to find someone local that has a passion for cats and is in a strong enough mental & financial place to take on the business. We put literally every penny and as much of ourselves as we could into creating this business and don’t want to see it come to an end if we can find someone else to pass the torch off to. If we don’t end up finding a buyer we’ll have to close the cafe. We hope that it doesn’t come to that because we know that Oak Ridge is filled with animal lovers and we really do think it provides something special to the community.
