My dad’s alarm has been going off, early morning, for most of his life. This past Saturday the trumpets of heaven took him home.
Leo Scheuermann, 93, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Ocean City, New Jersey, surrounded by the love of his family.
Leo was born in Pittsburgh. He was the devoted husband of Patricia Scheuermann, the love of his life, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage.
He was the proud and loving father of seven children: His family continued to grow with 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride.
After serving his country in the United States Army, Leo returned to Pittsburgh and opened his own bakery. In 1985, Leo moved to Ocean City, New Jersey, where he purchased Dot’s Pastry Shop, which became a beloved part of the town and a place where generations of customers were welcomed with his warmth, humor, and kindness.
Leo loved Jesus with all his heart and lived his life with a quiet (his grandkids would lovingly say “not so quiet”) but powerful faith. His genuine love for people and joyful spirit made everyone who met him feel welcomed and valued.
Leo will be remembered for his gentle spirit, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to his family. His life was a beautiful example of love, generosity, and joy.
Leo’s family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace and reunited with the Lord he loved so dearly.
