We really appreciate everyone's support on this. This could be a big day for us and finally put all of this to rest. Thank you all! Cheers!

Always meant to be a permanent structure!

Once and for all, for all of you who keep commenting that the Ocean Pours outdoor structure was never meant to be a permanent structure, please read the permit (I have highlighted it in yellow) where it talks about what will be necessary to make it a permanent structure.

Additionally, here is voicemail left on my phone from former Mayor Jon Martin. There is zero room for ambiguity here where he tells me that the city is working on making the structure permanent and it was going to be his recommendation to do just that (click on link below to hear voicemail).

So please, no more misinformed messages saying it was only meant to be a temporary structure. The city obviously knew this was meant to be a permanent structure and was supposed to work with us to make that happen.

Update!! The vote to change the city ordinance to allow our outdoor structure to remain has now been moved to the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 14th at 6pm.

we would still love to have everyone’s support for that meeting on July 14th.

Evidently to make a change to a city ordinance you must allow for a public hearing where the community can discuss the proposed change and hear comments. And, the kicker here is that you must allow a minimum of 10 days notice for a public hearing.

i find it interesting that we have been talking about this change for quite a while now but the city planner only now decided to tell the council there needs to be a hearing and a 10 day notice. I find it hard to believe that this requirement somehow slipped his mind until now.

We are sorry that we have to keep changing the date when we are asking for all of you to support us.

Cheer!

Let’s GOooooooooooal!

UPDATE!! THIS AGENDA ITEM HAS BEEN MOVED TO JULY 14TH CITY COUNCIL MEETING AT 6PM

We still need everyone’s support please at this meeting.

As it turns out in order to propose a change to a city ordinance there must be a hearing (this is simply a chance for the community to discuss and respond to the proposed change). But you must give a 10 day notice for the hearing, so this has to be moved out 2 weeks.

Why the city planner did not share this with the city council until now I cannot tell you (but I can surmise why this was not shared like it should have been).

The hearing and the vote to change the ordinance will now take place on Tuesday, July 14th. We are sorry to keep asking for support and then having the date change.

Please come out and support us at the Ocean Shores City Council meeting next Tuesday, June 30th at 6pm. Despite our re-model and all the hoops we jumped through, there is still a city council member and a city planner trying to make us take down our outdoor structure.

Come to the meeting, decked out in Ocean Pours gear, and let the City Council and the city officials know you want the outdoor structure to stay.

There is zero reason that our structure should come down as it provides outdoor seating even in bad weather and protection for you and your pups.

Please do not let a personal vendetta of one council member take away something most of the city loves. Cheers!
