The Space Pad The Space Pad is Kilowatt Brewing's 1950's atomic era intergalactic spaceport-themed speakeasy.

Clint Cary, the Spaceman of Ocean Beach (1909 to 1993).

In the 1950s, Clint was abducted to the planet Rillispore. Twice. He spent the rest of his life painting it, in fluorescent colors that come alive under blacklight. The three paintings in this Reel are his, each created by Clint Cary.

As the Rillisporians' designated representative on Earth, he issued tickets to select humans in OB for seats on the spaceships to Rillispore. (XiB over a black star: David Bowie's ticket number.)

Kilowatt Ocean Beach shows many of his original paintings, from the collection of Greg Longway, in a blacklight gallery in his honor. The Space Pad is our other tribute to the Spaceman and Planet Rillispore, inside Kilowatt Oceanside.

Beyond the bar at Kilowatt Oceanside, find the infinity mirror door to blast off to the planet Rillispore.

This is The Space Pad, an intergalactic lounge on the top deck of an alien planet tower. Glowing crystal walls and flying saucers over the bar. The cocktails come out smoking, bubbling, glowing and changing color.

How to get here: walk into Kilowatt Oceanside at 406 Mission Ave, go past the front bar, and head to the back. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 5 PM.

Save this for your next date night, and tag who you're bringing. 🛸

Houston, we have smoke.

Stage one: ignition.
Stage two: atmosphere.

Earthlings brought the Old Fashioned to the planet Rillispore in the 1950s. We added the smoke. Ask for the Smoked Old Fashioned. Open tonight at 5, reservations at the link in bio. 🥃

When your date says they “know a little place” and suddenly you’re sharing glowing cocktails with a cantina girl and a chrome-helmeted space outlaw.

Celebrate the fourth orbit of May all week at The Space Pad with neon drinks, cosmic weirdness, and absolutely no promises of responsible hyperspace navigation. 🚀🍹✨
