📣 An Important Update From The Yard Brewing & Distilling Co. + Holiday Special 🎄
As many of you know, two summers ago the City filed a lawsuit against our beer garden operation and issued fines of over $300 per day for operating. We fought that case and won, receiving a Not Guilty verdict from the Municipal Judge.
Instead of accepting the ruling, the City chose to appeal the decision to Circuit Court. This decision was not brought before the City Council, but was made privately by the Public Works Superintendent, the Building Inspector, the Mayor, the City Attorney, and the City Administrator.
Because of this continued legal battle, we’ve had no choice but to hire an attorney to defend a case we have already won—despite the fact that our beer garden has been closed and vacated for quite some time. Unfortunately, this ongoing appeal is costing both us and the taxpayers money.
To help offset our unexpected legal expenses, we’re running a Holiday Liquor Special throughout December:
