OJAI DISPATCH: SUMMER SO SOON?

The nightshades are arriving! It’s barely June and yet, we’re once again blessed by the SoCal sun. A delicious cazuela of confit eggplant bathing in tono à la puttanesca. Finished with pecorino Fulvio and oregano. Heart warming, meltingly satisfying, obvious addition to any meal.

VA VONGOLE makes its return. Plump Manila clams, a sauce made with their liquor, translucent garlic, calabrian chili, baby spinach. Great hot weather pie. A marine delight.

New chicken set as well with a nasturtium and tarragon (both from BD) salsa verde, squash cooked in the bird’s juices, and gorgeous blossoms from . One of our best sets yet.

BTG TAKEOVER IN OJAI!! FRIDAY 5/22

Incredibly excited to have our friends at join us for our monthly tasting and a special BTG list takeover at our Ojai location. Starting at 4PM, they’ll be hanging out and pouring some of the most exciting wines in California.

The Inland Empire boasts some of the oldest own-root vines in the state, and has done a beautiful job of telling their story through their impeccable wines. We’re very excited to share this story with you!

All wines are available by the glass or as a tasting flight. Flights are free for all wine club members and $10 for up to two of their guests! See you next week starting at 4! 🐸🍷🌵

OJAI DISPATCH

The OG menu is replete with springtime delights this week. First up, artichokes. Poached, wood fired, laid on a pillow of chile de árbol aioli, and draped with Sicilian coppa. A primeval pinyon classic.

Next up, thick cuts of pork rib and loin chops. Meltingly tender, rested in a pool of 24hr jus made from the rib bones and burnt onions. A treat for you and/or a loved one.

Finally, FLIGHT NIGHT! Starting tonight we’ll be doing a weekly Thursday tasting in both shops curated by . Tastings will be unique to each shop and feature Jordan’s favorite bottles from the list. $35 for four pours. Buy one get one free for wine club members.

This Friday 3/20 we are THRILLED to launch our collaboration wine with !

‘Dream Green’ is 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Chardonnay from the Santa Ynez Valley. Crisp, tropical, wildly refreshing. The perfect wine to start these warmer months off. We’re so grateful to have the opportunity to work with such talented friends.

Bottles will be limited but fret not! ‘Dream Green’ will be available IN KEG at both locations while supplies last. Party starts at 4 at the Ojai location!

OJAI HEAT WAVE

Woof it’s hot! Fret not, fresh spring time speshies have arrived.

Everyone’s favorite Baja Kanpachi crudo is back. This time with a Basque style hot sauce and shaved white onions. Inspired by ’s txipster jawn.

A monochromatic golden beet salad with kishus, shaved L’amuse Gouda from and some nasturtium flowers peppered throughout.

It’s that magical time of year. The austerity of winter has ended and the abundance of spring is upon us. A couple new changes on the Ventura menu to celebrate the abundance of the market. First, raw snap peas and cold roasted purple carrots on a cushion of whipped sesame paste. fried douro almonds and nasturtiums. A layered textural delight.

Next up, jumbo asparagus, isi’d Meyer lemon hollandaise (shouts to on the assist), our crispy sourdough, shards of Solo di Bruno Parmigiano, and chervil. A riff on a classic, if you will.
