OJAI DISPATCH: SUMMER SO SOON?
The nightshades are arriving! It’s barely June and yet, we’re once again blessed by the SoCal sun. A delicious cazuela of confit eggplant bathing in tono à la puttanesca. Finished with pecorino Fulvio and oregano. Heart warming, meltingly satisfying, obvious addition to any meal.
VA VONGOLE makes its return. Plump Manila clams, a sauce made with their liquor, translucent garlic, calabrian chili, baby spinach. Great hot weather pie. A marine delight.
