At Egg & CàPhê, stories like this are deeply personal to us.

My mother came to the United States after the Fall of Saigon, carrying with her the resilience, hope, and sacrifice shared by so many Vietnamese families. That journey shaped our family, our community, and the heart behind everything we do.

Vietnamese Boat People (VBP) is honoring those stories through Our Journeys, a traveling exhibition launched in 2025 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon — a pivotal moment in our Vietnamese diaspora community.

This exhibition preserves and shares the lived experiences of refugees, survivors, and families who rebuilt their lives across the world. It’s a reminder that our histories matter, and that future generations deserve to know them.

🧧🏮 What are Lion Dances? 🏮🧧

Lion dances are a traditional Lunar New Year performance meant to bring good luck, prosperity, and protection for the year ahead. The lion symbolizes strength, wisdom, and fortune. During the dance, the lions “awaken,” visit businesses, and bless the space — chasing away bad energy and welcoming abundance for the new year.
The vibrant drums, cymbals, and firecrackers aren’t just for fun — the loud sounds are believed to scare away evil spirits and invite fresh, positive beginnings. ❤️💛
We are honored to host THREE different lion dance teams at Egg & CàPhê this year:
🥁 Hung Viet — 12PM
🥁 Dung Lạc — 2PM
🥁 GQ — 4PM
Each group brings their own style, energy, and tradition — so you’ll get to experience something unique every time.
