‼️ SATURDAY 4:30 AM LATEST UPDATE: Union Pacific “Big Boy” #4014 symboled NS 061 will be traveling south from Binghamton NY following last night’s ’Norfolk Southern Employee Party’, and will meet with Reading & Northern excursion train RBMN Steam #2102 at CP679 Dupont interchange near the Main Street crossing at 11:40 AM EDT.
Both trains will use the Norfolk Southern interchange connection and follow each other with a 20-minute headway separation to Pittston Junction passing through these grade crossings:
• McAlpine Street Avoca
• Boylan Drive Duryea
• Foote Avenue Duryea
• along Railroad Street Duryea/former New Street crossing
• Phoenix Street Duryea
Ticketed passengers from RBMN Steam #2012 will be able to view the ‘Big Boy’ #4014 NS 061 in Pittston Yard before departing in 90-minutes.
‼️ The ‘Big Boy’ #4014 NS 061 will depart Pittston Yard at 1:30 PM, the Reading & Northern Steam #2102 will depart at 2:10 PM, both bound for Nesquehoning and will not follow each other on the same track, but will run ‘side-by-side’ on the remaining double-tracked section, crossing Oak Street in Pittston Township at approximately 2:37 PM.
The Reading & Northern excursion passenger train Steam #2012 will return to Nesquehoning at 6:14 PM EDT - the ‘Big Boy’ Union Pacific #4014 will arrive in Nesquehoning at 6:53 PM EDT and remain overnight before again leaving for Pittston at 9:00 AM EDT Sunday.
