Hours of operation:
Friday: 10 am - 11 pm
Saturday: 8 am - 11 pm
Sunday: 8 am - 2:00 pm (Just brunch!)
We are going to be running specials, selling out, blasting music and cheersing to you all one last weekend.
Come join us, bring your friends, say hi, talk to the staff, wave to us in the kitchen.

Good evening friends of the Reef. 

I have the unfortunate task of announcing that we will be closing our doors. I wish we could continue but with the current challenges of being downtown coupled with massive increases in costs to function in this industry. We have decided that we can’t force the issue any longer. We love this community, we all grew up here and wanted to be a part of a revitalization. For the community and our families we are now raising here. Please vote and use your voices to hopefully usher in that positive change we all want to see in a place we deeply love.  

We will be open through this Sunday evening August 10th. Then open for one final weekend, Friday August 15th, Saturday August 16th and Sunday August 17th and Shut down after brunch service that final Sunday. 

It has been the honor of a lifetime to get to reimagine and share this space, our food and our dream with you.

To our incredible staff. It is rare that you find a group of people who care so much for each other, their work and share those things so openly. Working with this amazing group of people day in and day out, seeing them grow, what they’ve created, learned and taught each other has been nothing short of amazing. They lead with kindness and care for each other and I am lucky to have been able to coexist with them to create beautiful things day in and day out. 

Brittny, Loryn, K, Kyle, Tiersa, Ashley, Tuppo, Araya, Wes, Izzy, Sierra, Isaiah, Landon, Pearl, Creston, Scott, Randall, Tatijana, Jermaine, Mackey, Pat, Noah, Ryan, Jiana. 

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, for making this such a special place to be. You have changed me for the better and I can’t thank you enough. 

To our families, who have shared this burden with us, held us up through the stress and pain and joy. We get to come home and pick up the pieces, none of this, absolutely none, would have been possible without your support. 

And finally, to you all, Thank you for spending time with us. I never thought I’d have an opportunity to pursue something so grand. Seeing tables fill up, kids collecting treasure after their meal, the bar full of noise and life. Thank you for making it special.

In support of RENT, our neighbors at The Reef have created two custom cocktails! Throughout the run, enjoy a refreshing "Over the Moon" or a sophisticated "Christmas in July" during the show at the State Theater. Then after the show, bring your ticket stubs to The Reef, Show Sponsor Nicole's Bar, or Uptown Grill for 10% off your bill!

We officially opened our doors a year ago today! What a whirlwind of joy, exhaustion, fear, uncertainty, imposter syndrome and joy again it has been. We so deeply appreciate all of the wonderful people who have come in and spent their time and money with us over this past year. We know how hard things have been on folks and to still see so many of you bringing your families in, your kids, your friends truly fills us up and keeps us going! 

To all of our incredible staff, many of whom have been with us since the very beginning. Thank you for sticking with us, for changing and pivoting and growing as a team. It is one of the greatest joys of my life to work with such caring and creative people. 

To our families who have supported us in this insane and glorious undertaking. You have endured late nights, loss of energy, loss of time together and none of this would be even remotely possible if we didn’t have you. 

We don’t know what this next year will bring but we can promise that we will continue to create delicious things for you to enjoy for as long as we can. We love being a part of this community in downtown Olympia and are so excited to see it continue to grow and flourish.

As we approach our first birthday, we want to introduce you to some of our amazing staff who have here since the beginning. 🩷

Meet Ashley! Ashley has been with us at the Reef since day one, and we truly don’t know what we would do without her. Her warm smile and positive attitude brightens every shift and makes everyone, team and guests alike, feel right at home.

Born in Tacoma, Ashley moved to Olympia when she was 6. When she’s not holding it down at the restaurant, she loves to read history, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with family. Her favorite shop downtown is Archibald Sisters. ✨

We’re so grateful to have Ashley on our crew! Come say hi next time you’re in!☺️
