It's with a ton of mixed emotions that we announce the end of back porch bbq as we know it. That's not to say we are gone forever as we figure out the next step in our family's journey, but as hard as it is, and as much as we love it, the barbecue lifestyle is taking away from my main priority of being a father first.
When I created the Instagram page and put the bio, I listed "Father, Husband, BBQ lover" because that is and will always be the list of priority. However, too much time was being spent on the bbq, and not enough on the father and husband.
I wanted to thank every single person that has been a part of this journey over the last 3 years. From family, to friends, to venues that supported us, and to every single person that has bought anything from us, shared a post, liked our page, we love you guys. We couldn't have done it without you.
It gives me great joy to scroll through the posts on social media that we've made, and look back at the memories. We had the chance to meet a ton of cool people, work with a ton of venues I may never have been to otherwise, got an intro to the BMX world as we sold food at the PA state championships. I have not a single regret about the last three years, and while extremely stressful at times, it was a ton of fun to build something from the ground up, and watch it grow over 3 years. When we got into this, we bought the trailer on a whim, I had never even used a wood burning smoker, had no idea how to start a legal business in the food industry, get licenses, permits, inspections, insurance, and we did it. We learned how to do it, leaned on a ton of people for help and advice, and we did it! It's been a fun ride, and I'm going to enjoy the down time until we figure out the next stage of our journey. ♥️
