The Autumn Cafe

Everything is made from scratch. Located in historic downtown Oneonta the Autumn Café serves fresh quality food and craft beverages. The Autumn Café has served generations of customers since it opened in 1980 as a cooperative venture with counter service and a retail section, Seating occupancy has grown from fewer than 40 in 1980 to more than 120 guests including their famous outdoor deck seating.

The café is known near and far for its exceptional fresh food, brunch menu and outdoor seating on the back deck. With extensive renovations complete in 2017 the Autumn staff looks forward to serving you for years to come! The specials menu changes with every meal, supplementing a regular menu of sandwiches, bowls, salads, and specialties. Most breads, desserts and all soups are made from start to finish in the cafe's open kitchen. While the fresh seafood, poultry and meat dishes are known for their taste and creativity, the cafe is also well-known for it's vegetarian entrees. Located in an early 20th century building with high tin ceilings, the Autumn has become a focal point for much of the surrounding community. Friends and co-workers can meet in a warm, informal setting with a monthly artwork display and a beautiful mural in our stage section. An outdoor dining deck & Bar area overlooks the Susquehanna River Valley and usually opens in mid-late May and closes around September (this varies based on the weather from year to year though!). Visitors find the uniqueness of the atmosphere and menu a favorite stop on their travels. Inside the dining room also boasts a cherry wood bar with 20 taps, many bottled beers and a large selection of wines & craft cocktails. Our specials menu changes daily so be sure to check it out when you come in for a visit! While our regular menu is available all day, lunch specials are served from 11 am - 2:30 pm and dinner specials are served from 5 -8or9 pm. On Sundays we are open for Brunch from 10am - 3pm serving our special breakfast menu and weekly specials. While our regular menu is not available, we do serve a variety of omelets, eggs benedict, pancakes, blueberry pancakes, breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, fish cakes, grilled cheese and vegan coconut curry!
