Good morning friends!
I know, I know, it's been a minute since I hopped on to post! 🙈 I've had a busy couple of weeks, spending quality time with my hubby and pets, and helping my daughter with wedding planning. I'm also excited to announce that I've accepted a position in the Clay County School district that I'll be starting this fall, so I've been busy with orientation and other preparations. The school where I'll be working is across the road from my home, so with the reasonable work hours and close proximity, I'll be able to keep up with my roasting and delivery schedule. 😄

I've also decided to start participating in some local weekend markets, so stay tuned for the new Mockingbird Coffee Co. tent coming to a market near you soon! If I'm able, I'll also be bringing complimentary mini iced bottled lattes with me to the markets for folks to sample, so if you loved my lattes in the shop, you can stop by and grab one! 🧋

I've got 50 lbs of freshly roasted beans getting bagged today, so the shelf at Sweet Hydrangea will be restocked tomorrow. I've got my smooth jazz playing, and I get to look at this amazing view while I roast and bag. Life is good!

Did you know that there is more than one way to decaffeinate coffee beans? Beans can be decaffeinated either chemically or naturally. While the chemical, or European method uses amounts of harmful chemicals the FDA currently considers safe, if you're like me and read labels, study ingredients, and try to be careful about what you put in your body, then using beans that have been "naturally processed" or "water washed" is the way to go!

For my decaf roasts, I only use fresh Columbian beans that have been naturally decaffeinated using the Swiss water wash method, for the smooth, roasty flavor with no chemical additives.

Missing my French press this morning. Although I love my espresso machine (of course!), I love the rich, full-bodied coffee that you can't get out of anything but a classic French press! I left mine at the shop, so I think I'll have to get another one soon. What's your favorite brew method? ☕😌

Good morning friends!

The shelves at Sweet Hydrangea will be restocked and ready for the weekend this morning. Online orders continue to increase, so I appreciate your patience!

Just an FYI, the new owner of Willow Coffee Co. (formerly my shop Present Tense Coffee & Books) next door to Sweet Hydrangea has decided to use a Jacksonville roaster going forward so my beans will no longer be used in the shop drinks. So that means if you want to enjoy Mockingbird beans, you'll have to do so at home, just like I do every morning haha!

I hope y'all have a safe and blessed long holiday weekend, and take a moment to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Just a final note, over the last six months of owning the shop, everyone teased that I was making "fertility coffee" lol because I had 13 regular customers announce their pregnancies during that time! All of y'all were due in May or through the summer, and I'd absolutely love to know when you have your little ones, so send me messages and pics so I can celebrate with you! 🤗

Hey friends! My apologies, I've been officially sold out of EVERYTHING for the past week! Traffic on the website has tripled, so I sold all of the beans I had on hand within 48 hours! 🤯 Nessie and I are hustling today, roasting all day to get caught up. The shelf at Sweet Hydrangea and my roastery inventory will be back on track tomorrow, so thanks for your patience! I'll be sure to bring extra Southern Butter Pecan beans!

Hey friends! As of today, I'm completely sold out of Morning Song, Dark Wing, and Southern Butter Pecan beans! I have another large shipment of beans on the way, but the beans currently on the shelf at Sweet Hydrangea are all I have available until the end of next week. I do still have some Early Bird and Free Bird beans available, and I have decaf Morning Song and Dark Wing resting that will be ready to go next week as well.

Sampler pack going out this morning! My sampler packs are perfect if you're indecisive about what roasts you prefer, if you like to mix things up throughout the week, or as a fun gift! The sampler pack has 4 oz. each of all four signature roasts, available as whole beans or ground to your preference. Sampler packs are only available through our website!

The shelf at Sweet Hydrangea was restocked yesterday, and the new Southern Butter Pecan beans are almost gone again already! I'll bring extra bags when I restock next week since they're so popular.

Good morning friends! Y'all asked for it, so here it comes! The winner of the spring flavor poll by a landslide was Southern Butter Pecan, so starting next week, I'll have roasted beans with that flavor infusion available for sale both at Sweet Hydrangea and through our website.
