To our Light Well Supporters:
After much consideration and a rollercoaster of emotions, we have come to some conclusions about the future of The Light Well.
We have been in business for nearly 12 years and for the last 2 we have had very challenging staffing issues - a situation that is widespread in the restaurant industry. It may be a commonplace situation these days, but nonetheless very difficult and stressful. We recently lost our kitchen staff, which has been limited for a while now. This loss has made us look long and hard at our situation. We closed the last two weeks to evaluate our next steps, and after much consideration we have reached a decision to close our business as of June 30.
Although we don't have plans to re-open to the public, we will continue to do a bit of catering during the month of June and hopefully find a graceful transition plan. We are actively looking for a buyer for our business so that the restaurant can continue in some fashion. It has been such a central part of downtown Orange and we feel it is important to help it to continue - for the local community as well as the growing tourism population.
We appreciate all the love and support that we have received over the years. It’s been a grand journey and we couldn’t have done it without you!!
