We wanted to give everyone an update on today’s events.
As many of you know, the restaurant was up for auction today and officially sold at approximately 2:00 PM. We were excited to reach that milestone and begin the next chapter.
About an hour later, at approximately 3:00 PM, we received a call that the grill had caught fire. Thankfully, it was a small grease fire that our staff extinguished immediately. There was no damage to the building, and most importantly, no one was hurt.
Because a fire extinguisher was used, we are required to have the kitchen professionally cleaned and inspected before we can reopen. As a result, Little River will be closed until further notice while that process takes place. We will keep everyone updated as we know more.
We’ve also heard some rumors suggesting the fire was intentional. It wasn’t. In fact, the restaurant had already been sold, and we had been looking forward to this day for quite some time. The last thing anyone wanted was an unexpected setback that now requires additional time, expense, and cleanup before we can move forward.
While this wasn’t how we envisioned the day ending, we’re grateful everyone is safe, and that’s what matters most.
