WEDDING DAY!

A gorgeous day for a wedding and the bride looked beautiful! Thank you, Megan, for choosing us to serve on your day! Everyone was so nice and helpful and complimentary.

Wondering where we’ve been? As many of you know, Jason’s taken on a second job at Panda Express in the evenings so between that and his health last year, we haven’t been able to take on much catering.

However, we had a friend who requested Jason’s cooking for her wedding and Jason couldn’t say no. It started off at around 70-80 people and grew to 110. This will be the largest experience we’ve had to take on and I pray everything turns out ok.

So far it’s been both an adventure and an experience for us. The wedding is in Mcconellsville, Ohio - not in town but in the country on the opposite side of where the house we are staying is at. There are a LOT of hilly mountainous curvy roads and when you mix snow and cold temps, you also get some ice! The venue is 35 minutes away from our AIR B&B on a good day but the trip to the venue was 45 minutes of one of the biggest panic attacks of my life and then over an hour back, of more massive anxiety since it had resnowed and despite the three salt trucks we passed coming down the mountain, there was still so much drifting snow and ice while we were going back up it. To add to all this fun, on the way to the venue, Jason was having some sort of health episode that made him feel like he was going to have to go to a hospital… but he pulled through that.

We are back to the rental. Tomorrow is the wedding. We are taking more food tomorrow. Hopefully the roads are cleared more bc I don’t think either of us have it in us to do these roads again, in the condition they were in today.

We got here last night and the girls and I enjoyed (or atleast tried) the hot tub but got out quickly bc it wouldn’t warm up past 93 and it was freezing outside!

Today, we made a ton of: pasta salad, mashed potatoes, baked beans, green beans, Brussel sprout casserole, and pork. Tomorrow morning we shred the slow cooked pork and finish the macaroni and cheese. Jason pre-prepped handmade sauces for the pork and YUM!

I truly hope it makes the bride and groom happy. Because we all know, the food is supposed to be the best part of a wedding, right? 😆

This venue was absolutely gorgeous too! Hopefully we can get more pix tomorrow of the venue and the food all set up. Here’s a few candids for ya today tho 💕

Hey folks! I wanted to thank you all again for your support in the Favorite Chef competition! So everyone knows the bad news about my elimination. However there is some good news. Through a mutual friend of mine I found that in another group someone from Rittman of all places that moved on! She has a goal of using the $25,000 to take students abroad for cultural enrichment. It is bittersweet but it looks like we did not move to the cooking part of the competition. I am still blown away at the level of interest and support you have shown me. I have only 2 courses of action now that I know I have to do. #1 is to show my appreciation to you all. Number 2 is find a way to put a brick and mortar in Wayne County. Thank again!

Hello Friends, fiends, and family. Our efforts have taken a slide near the end of this elimination. I am now in 3rd place in my group. I am crossing my fingers and praying to get to an actual cooking competition. Just over 24 hours to go! Hope to see you on the next level.

Only 3 hours left to vote for your favorite chef… holding in 2nd place currently! Next round is down to the final 1. I came in strong at 2 but #1 has been number 1 for most of the competition! Let’s go get number 1 shall we?

Well we are coming up on another elimination and I just want to say you guys and gals are something else! Currently in second place! We will go down to the number 1 moving on to the competition but being strong in number 2 gives me hope! Thank you everyone. Like and share please?
