We want to share a little bit of our “marketing plan” for the rest of the year — and it’s honestly pretty simple but I need some help for you to pull it off.
When we took over Pioneer, one of the biggest reasons we did it wasn’t just pizza… it was community. We wanted Pioneer to be a place Palmer could rally around, and we wanted to be the kind of business that shows up when it matters.
We also love that Pioneer can be a great first job for local kids — a place where they can learn real skills: showing up on time, working hard when it gets crazy, serving people well, and being part of a team. That matters to us.
So instead of spending money on ads with google and facebook, we’re putting that budget into pizza donations.
Last year we donated right around 400 pizzas. This year our goal was 600… but honestly, we want to do more than that — and we’re not doing enough yet. We’ve been blessed to do a ton with the schools — honor roll celebrations, fundraisers, movie nights, and classes raising money for trips. Now that school’s out for summer, we want to stay involved by supporting more youth-focused community events that could use some fresh pizza.
The last couple weeks we’ve been feeding volunteers at different Vacation Bible Schools, and this week we’re feeding 100+ volunteers serving at Lazy Mountain VBS.
Here’s why we do it: we genuinely believe the return from showing up for our community is greater than anything we could buy with traditional advertising. And honestly… we just love doing it.
Our goal is to donate 20–25 pizzas per week (or more) for the rest of the year, and we need your help finding great places to put those pizzas to work. If you know of an event, youth group, team, fundraiser, VBS, or volunteer crew that could use a meal — message us the details (date, group, headcount, and a contact person).
We can’t say yes to everything, but we will do our best to say yes as often as we can.
Palmer has shown up for us in a huge way — we just want to keep showing up for you
We really look forward to your suggestions.
