Hi everyone,

After a long year, we have made the difficult decision not to reopen Hong Garden. Unfortunately, Chef Joseph is facing some health concerns and will be focusing on his health and wellbeing. We were looking forward to reopening and seeing so many of our friends again, which makes this moment especially tough.

We are wrapping up loose ends related to this closure. We have released our phone numbers so they no longer belong to us (please remember to delete the numbers from your cell phones). For now, we will keep our social media accounts active.

We also want to thank our landlord for his support especially during this past year. The space is available for rent and we look forward to stopping by whenever a new business is up and running.

Chef Joseph sends his best wishes to everyone, and we are grateful for your enduring friendship and for supporting our small business for 27 years.

It's been awhile since we provided an update. We are working through the process so we can restore the restaurant interior. We estimate getting the approvals and the actual restoration will take about another 3-4 months combined. We are hoping to open our doors again in September/October 2021. As we make progress, we will provide another update. Hope you are all well and enjoy your summer. 🌞

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all our friends! Despite the unexpected things 2020 has thrown our way, we feel blessed to have this time with family (humans and dogs included). It’s actually the first time we’ve all had dinner at home on Christmas Eve, typically one of our busiest days in the year. As 2020 comes to a close, we continue to be so grateful for your support and encouragement. We’re looking forward to rebuilding in the new year and seeing you again this summer. Wishing you much peace, health and happiness. 🙏🙏

To our Hong Garden community:

We are incredibly thankful and humbled by your support. In just four days, we’ve received over 160 individual donations and were able to raise nearly double our target all because of your kindness and generosity.

As a direct result of these contributions, we have paid our staff and have begun the months-long cleanup process. The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing but we hope to share an update as soon as we’ve received final word from the authorities.

Time and time again you’ve come through for us and we are grateful beyond words.

Dear friends and family of the Hong Garden community,

Thank you for all the love and support you've shown us in the past few days as we continue to move forward from the fire at our beloved restaurant on Saturday night. The damage to the kitchen and dining areas is extensive and it will still be many more months before we can even think about the possibility of reopening.

At this time, we've launched a GoFundMe fundraising campaign because we want to help our dad who has helmed Hong Garden and cooked countless meals for so many over more than two decades. As many of you know, our mother, who also was fixture at Hong Garden, passed away a few years ago after a long-hard fought battle with cancer. She was beloved by many, and the restaurant was one of the last places where her memory lived on for us.

Your contributions will go directly toward providing financial relief to our staff members who have lost their jobs suddenly amidst this COVID-19 pandemic and to offset the cost of cleaning up and restoring the space destroyed by the fire. Every dollar raised will help us achieve our goal and will be a way to show our dad the community's support for Hong Garden.

Happy Hamilton Day! We are open today Friday July 3 from 3-8.
We are closed July 4-6 for a short break. We will have new hours when we reopen on Tuesday July 7th. We are still take out only. Menu is posted on the website. We will not have a lunch menu. Thank you and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Hong Garden will remain a takeout only restaurant as we move into green phase. Average time to prepare orders is about 20-25 minutes. Larger orders may take 30-45 minutes. You may come in the restaurant to pick up your order if you wear a mask. No more than 2 customers in the restaurant at one time. We continue to offer contactless pickup if you wish to pre-pay and we will bring your order out to you when you arrive. We have a table outside that we can place your order. We can also bring your order to your car. Reminder: No delivery and no dine in. Thank you and stay safe. 🌈
