Sometimes being a small business owner means looking back just as much as looking forward.

When I first launched my grazing boxes, I was so excited to get them out into the community that I learned a lot along the way. One of the biggest lessons was that presentation matters just as much as what's inside.

Today I had the chance to surprise a few of my very first customers with one of my new, upgraded Premium Grazing Boxes as a thank-you for supporting me from the beginning. No special occasion. No catch. Just a little way of saying, "Thank you for believing in me while I was still figuring things out."

Seeing their smiles and hearing how much they loved the new packaging reminded me why I do this.

Every order teaches me something. Every customer helps me grow. And I'm always looking for ways to make Sonya's a little better than it was yesterday.

Well... I hate doing this, but I've decided to take one more day off from LongHorn to let my body recover after yesterday's fall.

The good news is I'm okay. Nothing is broken, and it wasn't anything serious. The bad news? I'm in my 50s now, and I don't bounce back quite as fast as I used to. I've learned it's better to take one extra day to heal than to push it and end up needing a week.

My plan is to be back at LongHorn tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'm going to spend today doing something that makes me smile—building charcuterie!

Well... I did it again. 🤦‍♀️😂

If there were an Olympic event for finding the one thing on the floor to slip on... I'd probably bring home the gold medal.

Today at work, I slipped on a glove in the kitchen and took a pretty good fall. My right wrist, shoulder, hip, and knee are all reminding me that gravity is undefeated.

So tonight, I'm doing something I don't do very often... I'm actually listening to my body. That means ice packs, rest, and not much moving unless snacks are needed 😋

No worries though... I'll be back at LongHorn tomorrow for lunch, and then it's right back to creating another beautiful grazing board tomorrow afternoon. 💜

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is slow down long enough to heal.

Now, if you'll excuse me... my couch and an ice pack have an appointment with me. 😂

There was a time when I wondered if this dream would ever become reality. Now I'm waking up almost every day getting to create something with my own hands for someone else's table.
