We can't begin to say how special all of you have made us feel with the cards and special gifts that we have received. We are truly blessed to have the family, friends, and neighbors that have shown us such an out-pouring of love and caring and support.

Unfortunately, Mike's prostate cancer was not caught soon enough and so it is not curable. He has Stage IV High-Volume prostate cancer which means that the cancer has spread quickly through his bones. He CAN and WILL survive but not without meds for the rest of his life. He is just starting chemo and has quite an array of medications to boost his body. Right now he looks great and feels pretty good most of the time.

Well, it's time to get this out to all our friends (family already knows) and make it public (although quite a few people already know).

Our last Wednesday evening at Legacy Acres was June 3rd.

Back in May, Mike went to his annual physical and had the routine blood draw/test done. Our lives have been changed ever since.

Mike has Stage IV High-Volume Metastatic Prostate Cancer.
There, I said it. It's been fast and furious. And difficult.
The Oncology Dept. at Compass Memorial in Marengo has been over-the-top helpful and caring.
Right now, Mike is doing hormone treatments (monthly injection and oral/pill daily). Soon he will start chemotherapy.

Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.
If you would like to send a card/note to him, I think he would appreciate it.

NO MORE RESERVATIONS ARE AVAILABLE.

Hello! It's that time of year again, hunting season is over and we're getting geared up for another round of Wednesday evening dinners. Time for friends to meet up at Legacy and relax with good food and a beautiful view!

Please read through all of the info! For those of you who don't know, and as a refresher to those who have been there before, here are the 'rules'...

*Bring your own drink - NO HARD ALCOHOL. We only supply water.

*We offer a tremendous salad bar and then a menu with 8-14 entrees (steak, seafood, pasta, etc). The menu varies from week to week with the exception of some entrees being a mainstay almost every week. (We do not have a kid's menu, nor does the hunting lodge have highchairs/booster seats.)

* CASH or CHECK only. (Try not to bring big bills, please!)

*GROUP LIMIT OF 6 (yes, this number has been whittled down to make it more manageable for the two of us). Seating is limited.

* NO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS. You may request multiple reservations if you know any dates later in the Summer you would like. We go May to August (week of July 4th is blocked out). Seating is limited.

*RESERVATIONS ON THE HALF HOUR. Starting at 5 and going thru 7 (so 5, 5:30, 6, 6:30, 7) Seating is limited.

*CALL TRACEY at 319-668-0500 to reserve a date and time. Provide a phone number as well in case the Lodge has an event and we need to cancel our evening dinner.

PLEASE pass on the drink and payment info to your guests, it will save embarrassment when someone tries to pay with a card, or, when we have to ask someone to return their bottle to their vehicle.
