From Chris-
I want to take a moment to go down memory lane and express my thanks to everyone that put Coconut Charlies on the map from August 2008 to July 28th, 2017.
Spring/Summer 2008 was just the beginning stages of creating something great, changing the bar over from Danny’s. Aug 4th, 2008 started the best “little bar” in Pasadena. People came in as customers and left as friends.
Jason Gartside got us started off with a Food Truck before we ever got the kitchen up and running. What he kicked off turned into everything you loved; our famous cheeseballs with Charlie’s sauce, shrimp salad and our seafood sampler.
The Ravens Roost.... we built one of the smallest to one of the largest. We won a lot of awards and supported numerous fundraisers over the years. Our parking lot tail with the fire barrels were something to remember.
Our Annual Rockfish Tournaments... THANK YOU for everyone that participated and came out to see the results. Bud Hein worked like crazy with us during all these Tournaments. Thank you to Atlantic Marina for all their help as well.
Thank you for all the bands and other entertainment that helped to support us. The band Pasadena was always one for the books. Thank you for all the DJs throughout the years. Chuck, Sean, Nick, Rob, Mike (all of them 😊), Cory, Chris Katzenberger, Brady, Jazzy Jim and Andrew.... y’all rocked out with us all the time.
I need to thank everyone who has ever work for Coconut Charlies. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were part of something that was a part of Pasadena history. There are too many to mention. Charles- You always took the punches for us figuratively and literally. Kat- I always loved our days together and we had some day time fun. David Watts in the kitchen, always helped us and was a rock for us. Tyler was always a freaking blast to work with! Ashley O... we drove each other crazy but I really appreciate you helping with everything behind the scenes. All the bartenders who were there at the end... Natasha, Ashley M, Ashley O, Teresa and Nicolette; you girls helped us keep the nights rocking and the pickle shots flowing. I will always cherish the plaque you all made for me and will look at it and remember all of our good times.
Thank you to Mel Foster who kept the beer running cold, getting the kitchen up and running so we could keep the Shrimp Salad and cheeseballs flowing. Without you we wouldn’t have had ice cold beers and bombs.
Bobby and Barb Smith from Top to Bottom Cleaning and Kathy Riley- You always made sure the place looked spotless after our crazy nights.
Danny/Sherry and Bobby Brucksch- Thank you for being unforgettable neighbors and always being supportive.
To the Jackson Family who owns the property- Thank you for years of opportunities. Without you we wouldn’t have had anything to start with.
When you ride by don’t think of it as an empty lot, remember all the good times we had, amazing memories that were made and that we all shared and the line of vehicles lined up and down Ft. Smallwood on our busy nights.
It has been hard not being around the Staff and Friends that were made. Everything happens for a reason but we all have a final goodbye. Once again thank you for everything through out the years.
Don’t forget...When you are out this weekend have a pickle shot for us to remember all the good times. 🍻🍹🥒
Feel free to add your special memories on this post to keep the positivity going.
