❤️❤️Vulnerable, and personal post that gives a little peak in to who we believe has been the most important member of our Family ❤️❤️
Andrew (🫵the stud in the Nola jersey🫵) was born with a severe case of digeorge syndrome. It has caused many health complications, as well as personal frustrations of his own. Andrew basically has his own language, and most people wouldn’t understand what he is saying.
Though his cognitive abilities are limited to about a 10-12 year olds, he has always understood that he is different. He didn’t want to learn, and use sign language. He knew he wouldn’t be able to drive, get married, and live a normal life. This has put him through a lot of personal heartache, jealousy, and at times, some bouts of depression.
For us, Andrew has been our greatest teacher! He has taught us the importance of knowing the worth of every soul, no matter the disability, or circumstances! He is the greatest example of giving. He would quite literally give up everything if it meant that he could help someone else. That is no exaggeration!!❤️
He is who we believe has been the bond that formed our families relationship; The reason we all work together so well, and the reason we are all each other’s’ best friends.
✊He has taught us that adversity is just a fact of life, and that no matter how complicated, or heartbreaking, we can make it through, and always come out better. He has taught us that the most simple things in life are often the most joyful, and that we shouldn’t take for granted the abilities we have. He has taught us patience…so much patience, and what it really means to truly love someone. He has taught us compassion, and a universal understanding that everyone is deserving to be treated with love and kindness. He taught us that God is real, that Christ is the savior of the world, and that we are blessed beyond words that he is a part of our family!
Though Andrew’s disabilities limit his ability to do what most of us take for granted in this life, he has been the teacher, and the preparer for us in our careers.
Tonight, he was at the Jazz game, and before he walked in, he took a little spill. The delta center bandaged him up, gave home some stitches, and he wasn’t about to let his night get ruined by it! He sat in the bleachers yelling “Jazz Suck” and cheering on his favorite team!
