May 18th will forever remain one of the most important and emotional days of my life, because on that day my baby girl received her college diploma.
Today I remember when everyone bet that I, a 16-year-old girl with a baby in her arms, would fail as a mother. To those people, today I want to say thank you for motivating me with your prejudice to become the best mother I could be for my daughter.
Thank you, Ashley Méndez, for teaching me and growing alongside me. I love you like crazy, and you have no idea how proud I have always been and will always be of you.
