Popcorn Chicken is our chef special this week and we're serving it up for both lunch and dinner Wednesday & Thursday at Eats & Treats Cafe in Philomath!!!

Our Popcorn Chicken meal comes with 1/2 lb fried chicken thigh pieces, sides of french fries & coleslaw and dipping sauces of your choice (we highly recommend our sweet heat orange chili sauce!) You can also switch out your sides to any of our other BBQ sides!!

-Honey Glazed Chicken Thighs (hot off the smoker for BBQ plates)
-BBQ Brisket Sandwiches (smoked brisket, carolina BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, coleslaw & fried onion strings on a house made bun)
-Brisket Tacos (white corn tortillas with cheddar cheese, smoked brisket, chipotle ranch, pico de gallo, cilantro & green onion)

There's a lot of different specials to choose from at Eats & Treats today if you're planning to stop by for Thursday lunch or dinner!!

We've got a BBQ Brisket Sandwich which is our smoked brisket cooked in carolina BBQ sauce, topped with melted cheddar cheese, coleslaw and fried onions on our house made bun!

Another brisket option today are our Brisket Tacos! Corn tortillas filled with smoked brisket, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, chipotle ranch and green onion & cilantro!

We remember.......we honor.........we give our thanks.

And to remind us all what Memorial Day is about, I repost the following:

Memorial Day is not a celebration. Memorial Day is observed.

Both North and South began similar traditions; eventually ending up on the last Monday in May. Veterans Day recognizes those who have served; Memorial Day is for those who, in Abraham Lincoln’s words, “Gave the last full measure.”

There is a symbol, and on special occasions, a brief ceremony to honor the fallen, and especially those who are missing in action or prisoners of war. It's Saturday at Eats & Treats Cafe in Philomath, which means Ribs & Honey Glazed Chicken Thighs, hot off of the smoker, for your lunch and dinner BBQ plates, while supply lasts.

ALSO, because it is summer time, Chef Cale has added a nice Cobb Salad to today's Chef Specials.

As for the bakery case, for those who may not know, we have added a second bakery case to the front of the house, allowing for even MORE amazing treats from which to choose, including these two WHOLE cakes which have been added to today's options. If anyone needs a dessert for a group tonight, both these Lemon-Raspberry and Lemon-Blueberry Cakes are being sold as whole cakes, not by the piece. But if you are interested, you want to call and hold it and not wait to walk in for it.

For those who like to get a jump on their Sunday Brunch plans, tomorrow's Waffle Special will be Marionberry Pie Waffle!

Fun fact of the day: Lynda turns 70 today!

Even MORE fun is that our very first grandchild, Henry, turns 7 today! He and I share the same birthday! Best birthday present I ever received!

Hard to believe, when we first started this amazing Eats & Treats Cafe journey over 14 years ago, we had no grandkids and now we have three, with a fourth on the way!

Those who know the Cafe well, know that Sandy and I have been working on our exit plan for awhile now,. Plain and simple, we are getting old and we want to go play with our grandkids!

We are in search of the buyer who is interested in taking on the whole enterprise: restaurant, mill, retail gluten free mix enterprise and the Cafe building, to whom we can pass the torch to take this on to the next generation.

Before you panic, NO, WE ARE NOT closing. BUT, we are hoping to spread the word, casting a wider net, by using "the net" to be exact.

To that point, a favor to ask all who love the Cafe. Would you be so kind as to share this post to all you know, and ask them to also share with those they know.

Maybe if we all spread the word far and wide enough, we might just find the person who is seeking this opportunity, but doesn't know such an opportunity exists.

This week we're soaking in the sunshine and celebrating the feeling of summertime! Our burger specials are:
-Black & Bleu Burger: Cajun seasoned beef patty on a toasted house made bun with chipotle mayo, blue cheese crumbles, sauteed onion, lettuce & tomato
-Cowboy Burger: Seasoned beef patty on a toasted house made bun with cheddar cheese, bacon, Carolina BBQ & fried onion strings
-Classic Patty Melt: Seasoned beef patty on toasted house made marble rye bread with cheddar cheese, sauteed onions & 1000 island
