Good morning! Just a Random discussion ….When engaging a catering service from any chef or catering company, consider this: with current economic conditions and food costs, could you procure comparable services and products within your allocated budget YOURSELF? Ik everyone’s Favorite Budget amount is $500 but honestly it barely gets you anything…At Milli’s Joint that’s starting prices for a Private dinner Not a catering 🙂 When a Chef ask you What’s your Budget, We not asking you that to try to take all your money (I mean I don’t) I’m simply asking that to see if I can even accommodate you. And It also helps keeps my time from being wasted because every sec I spend talking to you about your event and doing inquiries is Time n money. So when I ask What’s your Budget and How many Guests you feeding…I really mean just that lol so when you say 30 people and I’m tryna stay at $500 or under imma then tell you unfortunately with your budget I wouldn’t be able to give you what you want or you can rise your budget to accommodate Your needs ☺️
Catering takes a lot n I’m positive most cooks can agree! We go days without proper sleep, we Don’t shop in one place so yes hrs spent on grocery shopping and driving around is Real, Prep time day/days prior and day of event, Food Costs, Labor costs, and that’s just some of it!
So to end it I wanna say Stop Low balling these Businesses…We know it’s hard out here n guess what it’s hard out here for us too 2x Personal n business so we Get it but at the end of the Day Catering is a Luxury….Having a personal Chef is a luxury…
