This past Sunday was my 42nd birthday, and of course we are heading into Thanksgiving. It’s the time of year that reminds me truly how blessed beyond measure I really am. I have so much to be grateful for that I couldn’t imagine starting that list. I want to pass some blessings on so it is time for me to give something back.

Beautiful rainy day for some of us today, unless you’re a fluffy chicken 😆some of them won’t even come out of the coop this morning.

So much rain, the chickens had their own private island today 😂 they were not too happy. So I helped them out but now it’s raining again. Luckily they have their warm coop and a covered area under the coop to hide.
I am thankful for my awesome chicken boots during this weather. They are my go to boots in my coop and during the rain. ♥️ The Original Muck Boot Company

We got quite a bit of rain last night and this morning. More to come over the weekend. There is a break right now in the rain and all the fluffers are so happy to get a snack. They get so excited when they see me walking over to them. I love it 😍!!! Chickens really can make a girl happy 😆.

Seriously my chickens love these crickets as treats. It’s funny seeing them chase each other for them. They sn**ch them up quickly. I have a monthly subscription for my chicken feed and snacks to Chewy and I have these crickets added to my order. They are super affordable and trust me your chickens will love them. ♥️ I linked the crickets in the link in my bio.

These chicks love their Kalmbach Feeds, Inc., Hen House Reserve as a scratch snack. They get so loud and come running to the door when they know I’m coming out. I love all of them so much. I put my incubator away for the winter and hope to bring it back out in the spring. I have my mind already set on some eggs I would like to get my hands on 🤫 don’t tell the hubby haha 😂

Hubby helping me make some changes to the coop and cleaning it out. With the two birds I had pass away at the beginning of last month, I still don’t have an answer for the cause of death but possible causes are fungal infection. I searched everywhere but couldn’t find a source. So I’m cleaning house and changing things up to ensure these gals and gents stay healthy.

This bail of orchard hay smells fresh and great. I’m sure they will love to bundle up in it at night. They don’t roost at night instead mine create a huge fluffy cuddle puddle 😆🥰

Well I was hoping to have Halloween chicks hatching but my luck with shipped eggs this time turned into 100% loss rate. UPS must have been having a bad day with my box 🥲such a bummer my son really loves watching the hatching process. I was so excited too because I did have one really good paint line that had progressed but stopped.

Shipped eggs are never a guarantee but ouch I’ve never had a total loss yet till now. Good learning for me.

I’m still on the recovery from surgery, 8 days post op. Getting around here and there, restricted to no lifting over 10lbs for 6 weeks. To keep me occupied sometime I’ll turn on the camera to the chickens and watch them 😆 thank goodness they are entertaining.
