His Papa lovingly called him “Big Al” — and that’s how Al’s Diner got its name! In March 2022, ownership passed outside the Plummer family for the first time, to another l

ocal family — The Parkers. We’re proud to carry on the Al’s Diner tradition that has made this place a Pittsboro favorite since 1997. We’re still serving the same menu you know and love — hearty, home-style country cooking just like Grandma used to make. From fluffy eggs and homemade buttermilk biscuits smothered in white pepper sausage gravy to comforting lunches like chicken and rice with pinto beans, coleslaw, and hush puppies — there’s something here for everyone!
