Pat was Millvale, defined. When we decided to open our place in Millvale, Pat was there, with questions and gossip. When I told Pat we had lasagna, he was there. When I invited him to go to the Maxo Vanka murals and enjoy Community Day free food, he was there, yelling: JENNNNNNNAAAAAY. I think the most tender memory was when Danielle Spinola and I were craving community during Covid and we simply set up coffee, tea, and snacks right in the gravel parking lot so that we could just say good morning to our community. Pat, Katie, Frances and others - we simply had morning tea and coffee and pastry, and created a quick space for belonging, community, humanity, and dignity. Pat was integral to this. When I think of Pat, I think of true authenticity.
