The Gambler has been seeing good action on most of our half-day fluke trips lately, with a nice percentage of keeper-sized fish coming over the rail. Recent pool winners have generally been in the 4- to 5-pound range, and we’re excited to see the fishing continue to build as summer settles in.

Both traditional bait rigs and Gulp jigs have been producing, so whether you prefer fishing natural bait or artificials, anglers have been catching fish using a variety of techniques.

We’ve also been seeing an occasional keeper sea bass mixed in on our fluke drifts, adding a little extra variety to the catch.

☀️ The forecast is calling for a beautiful stretch of weather, making this a perfect time to get out on the water. July waits for no one, and the fishing should only continue to improve!

Our Night Wreckin’ trips continue to produce, and the bite seems to be getting even better! 🔥

Despite fishing through the rain last night, we found lots of quality ling, along with a limit of sea bass. Anglers who brought squid jigs also enjoyed good success, with several putting together a nice catch of squid.

Summer nights are a great time to be on the water. If you haven’t experienced Night Wreckin’ aboard the Gambler yet, now’s the perfect time! Come spend an evening with us and see what comes up from the wrecks after dark.

🎣 Gambler Weekly Fishing Update 🎣

Summer fishing continues to improve aboard the Gambler, and we’ve been seeing good action on both our daytime fluke trips and nighttime wreck trips.

🎣 Half-Day Fluke Report 🎣

Gambler has been out every day targeting fluke, and we’ve been seeing good action on most trips. Several recent outings have produced a solid showing of keeper fluke, with pool winners generally weighing between 4 and 5 pounds.

The warming water temperatures are definitely helping the bite, and we’re starting to see a few keeper sea bass and some ling mixed in on our fluke drifts as well. While they’re not showing up in big numbers just yet, it’s always a nice bonus.

Both traditional squid and spearing rigs and Gulp on jig heads have been producing fish, giving anglers success with both natural bait and artificials.

🎣 Fluke and Lings Are Here—Plus Our 4th of July Fireworks Cruise!

Summer fishing continues aboard the Gambler, and we’ve been seeing steady action on both our half-day fluke trips and nighttime wreck trips.

🎣 Half-Day Fluke Report 🎣

Gambler has been catching fluke, with some days better than others. As always, a lot depends on the conditions. Some trips we’ve found the best fishing in just 30 feet of water, while other days we’ve worked depths of 60 feet or more to stay on the bite.

We’re continuing to see some quality keeper fluke mixed in, with recent pool winners reaching the 4–5 pound range. Sea bass have been scarce on our fluke drifts lately, but that can change at any time as summer progresses.

The fishing has been enjoyable, the weather has been cooperative, and we’re excited for what the coming weeks will bring.

The Gambler has been seeing some encouraging fluke fishing lately, with a handful of quality keepers pushing the 4-pound mark and better. While the action hasn’t been red-hot every trip, the fluke are definitely around and showing up more consistently as we move further into the season.

Sea bass have been scarce on our drifts lately, but anglers targeting fluke have been seeing steady action from shorts mixed with keeper-sized fish.

One of our recent anglers, Susie B. of Brick, joined us on Sunday afternoon and stayed busy with plenty of short fluke action while putting a couple of keepers in the cooler.

An interesting trend we’ve noticed is that our rental rods fishing traditional bait rigs have often been outfishing the Gulp jiggers. With water temperatures still running on the cool side, the fluke seem a little sluggish and appear to be responding better to slower-moving natural baits. That’s something worth keeping in mind when planning your next trip.
