We had a fun day at the market! We were invited by market to do a chef demo as part of their 25 year anniversary. They are highlighting chefs that use the market to shop for their restaurant. I have been using the farmers market on Wednesdays all summer long to shop for specials on the weekend. It’s been really fun, educational and exciting.
So today we gave away free samples of our signature raw nachos that are on the menu year-round as well as this delicious creamy market vegetable stew that we will have on the menu Friday and Saturday night. It is made with cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, red onion all cooked down and then we add in navy beans, roasted corn, roasted carrots, kale and that is all topped with our house made cashew chèvre and served with roasted garlic butter bread. One of my favorite comments that we got today was “wow, that is so good and you can really taste all of the vegetables that are in it. It’s so fresh and delicious.” Thank you anonymous market person!
Gwyneth is pictured guarding our booth. She is our incredible prep woman. Really our restaurant cannot run without her. I’m so grateful to work with her. Also pictured is my son who stopped at the market today. Made a big fuss and left crying. I think you can even see some tear tracks running down his face. But he still adorable!
