Some might say we got scared away, but let’s be real - these are just part of the game in the food industry. However, when staff safety is on the line and the health department’s knocking on your door multiple times despite passing with flying colors, it’s time to reassess. Rare cases became too frequent, and the straw that broke the camel’s back was the landlord doubling our rent ( which the dispute has been happing last few months). Our health inspector was cool, said we’re doing great aside from a tiny tweak - maybe wipe the front door handles-but had to follow protocol after complaints from individuals. We had big plans for 2026, including rebranding (we’ve always been independent, as everything is in-house), but sometimes you gotta know when to fold.
