After 30 years in downtown Portland, it is with a great amount of sadness that we announce that our landlord, Parsons Farnell & Grein, has decided end of April to terminate our lease at 1026 SW Morrison Street. This means that we will permanently close our premise on May 31, 2021.
My wife and I, born and raised in Iran, decided to call Portland our home the past 40+ years. Today, at 73 years old, I am honored for this opportunity to serving our community for so long. We truly put our hearts and soul 6 days a week with successes and failures along the way.
The past 30 years were filled with great memories with our customers and friends but also some amounts of pain. It is no secret that the last year’s looting and vandalizing, in addition to the pandemic, really took a toll on all small businesses, including us. But outside this unfortunate event, we want to continue remembering the outpouring support we received after those events which made us stronger and gave us a reason to not give up in front of adversity. For that, WE THANK YOU, Portland!
Unfortunately, I wished the fate of our restaurant could have been decided in another way, other than by Mr. Parsons and his associates, our landlord. Every story has an end, but in life, every end is a new beginning.
