Summer news!!! I’m taking a summer break and Box of YUM!!! will be closed for the months of July and August! (Taking Tea and More Catering will remain open and available for tea parties and catering)
Also during this time if you’d like to treat your hard working team to a delicious boxed breakfast or boxed lunch or even a box of cookies. Before thinking fast food think of me. Just ring me up and we can talk. The same for special orders, having a special event and need a dozen scones or 3 dozen lemon bars? Before calling your local bakery give me a call.

Good morning all!! Happy Memorial Day!! And A day that will always be fresh in my memory on this day in 1974 the cutest red haired baby was born! We named her SallyDay Marie
SallyDay Eisele she weighed 7 and was 20” long her two big brothers adored her and loved winding up her swing, which is where for her 1st 3 months she was happiest!

Last week end I canceled all Box of YUM!!! orders and options. Thank you to all for understanding. Last Monday (May 10th) my oldest son Mikeal had a stroke. Thanks to the quick thinking of his daughter and the fast actions of the OHSU Hillsboro Health Hospital he is doing fine. Thank goodness for “clot busters” He was discharged on Thursday night, with no restrictions, in fact you’d never know he had a stroke. No slurred speech and total use of his left side, which on Monday night this was all happening. His very high blood pressure is now ( thanks to the handful of b/p meds and practicing mindfulness) is now almost normal. To say that this mamma is thrilled is an understatement. I’d like to never have a week like this again. The stroke was in the pons portion of the brain, he could have been totally paralyzed, when we asked the neurologist how he could now be so symptom free. She said, luck pure luck and our quick actions. Please all keep an eye on your b/p it is indeed a silent killer. If your on meds TAKE THEM.

This weekends Box of YUM’s comfort supper: kielbasa sausage stew, tomato cucumber salad, slow rise bake house bread (their bread is so good, and this stew calls for a firm bread for dipping in the amazing broth) and for dessert mixed berry cobbler! Yummy!
