SATURDAY!

1-3pm (free/all ages): JOSH COLE’S BLUEGRASS MATINEE

It all started in the late 90s, when Cole first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded him to bluegrass music. Josh’s influences include Ralph Stanley, Larry Sparks, and Bill Monroe, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings.

6-8pm (free!): KRIS DEELANE & THE HURT

The Hurt is ten players strong and features a number of Portland music luminaries. They dive into deep cuts and old school favorites from the soul sounds of the 60’s and 70’s. Think Motown to Memphis, Stax to Atlantic records, Aretha to Etta. It’s all here!

9pm ($10): HOT DAMN SCANDAL / DIRTY LAUNDRY

Hot Damn Scandal finds its songs under park benches and in forgotten alleyways, on the corner of Tom Waits and Gershwin. The resulting outlaw ballads, dirty jazz, circus freakouts, shanty-rags, string band funk, lonesome heart-breakers, and whiskey bottle love songs blend together in what may be best described as ‘Cabaret Americana’: theatrical, orchestral, lyrical, and endlessly danceable.

9pm($15): THE COFFIS BROTHERS

With two songwriters, six albums, and more than a thousand shows under their belt, The Coffis Brothers have earned their reputation as modern-day torchbearers of all-American rock & roll. It’s a sound caught halfway between amplified Americana, acoustic folk, roadhouse R&B, and electrifying roots music, crafted by a pair of California-born siblings who’ve been sharing the stage since childhood, and the five piece band filled out by Kyle Po**en (guitar), Aidan Collins (bass), and Cory Graves (drums).
