POA Cafe

POA Cafe Brunch cafe + Superfoods smoothies. Patio seating or contact-free, online ordering at Poacafe.com Poa means *Everything is cool* in Swahili.

The name and café were Inspired by a 2013 volunteer trip to Tanzania, Africa. The idea that it *takes a village* to raise healthy children really stick with me, and I came home wanting to do something community-centric for my kids and the health of our family. And so Poa was created. First, as a family community café that organically morphed into a Wellness café as my kids grew and I became more involved with the idea of Food as Medicine. Good Clean, Simple Food.

Activists are calling for a national general strike on Friday January 30th to protest DHS and ICE raids.
We stand in solidarity with them and will be joining the National shutdown tomorrow, in opposition towards Ice. We have decided as a team to close.
Not all small businesses can close and we don’t judge anyone for not closing. Being able to make this decision is a privilege and one we do not take lightly.
Thanks for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi all. We will be CLOSED this Thursday for the holiday but OPEN the rest of the week and hope to see you! ☺️

*please note that we’ve been experiencing issues with our website and square’s online ordering system. We’re working on it but they repeat daily after being resolved (delayed pick-up times, adding new items from our catalog that we no longer sell). So please stick to the menu items with images only and call us if you encounter problems.
Square is attempting to help resolve the issues, thanks for your patience 🙏

Have a Happy Holiday! ✨🦃

Our Story

The name "Poa" means "Everything is cool" in Swahili. It’s the response to a warm greeting with close friends, inspired by a 2013 volunteer trip to Tanzania, Africa and the motto “it takes a village”. Upon return, we recognized the need for more community and family- centric establishments in our area, and a casual, healthy foods cafe seemed like the perfect platform to do so. Poa Cafe opened doors in early 2014, serving good clean food, coffee and smoothies. Over the years, we have expanded to include a back patio bar area, hosting pop-ups and events. We invite you to stop by and say hello, everyone is welcome.
