There are now copy cats and people stealing our recipes and ideas since we closed.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of environment Portland has become.

One of the bigger challenges we face is finding farmers & product that follow the humane, regenerative, and sustainable standards we insist on- they are definitely out there (we 😍 farmers markets!) but as we all know they can be spotty with what is available- and to be fair, they should be! Food is a precious and delicate resource! ⁣
⁣
We are DELIGHTED to now have right down the street from us! Having immersed myself in deciphering all the “all natural” and “organic pasture” green washing that happens in labeling, being able to walk into a market and KNOW they care about where their food comes from as much as we do is a first for me, and we need to support the few & far between businesses that are truly working for the future we all want!! 😍🙏❤️⁣

I would say “they are healthy treats!” but I know ya’ll are just gonna devour these like you’re trying out for the Velociraptor role in the new Jurassic Park movie. ⁣

And we won’t judge you for it. I’ve seen what paul does to bags of potato chips. And he can get those 7 days a week 24 hours a day...our short hours are for your well being!!!⁣

Today is the day we spend thinking about what we are grateful for, and giving thanks. ⁣
⁣
This year has shown me the value of one thing: TIME. ⁣
⁣
I have spent my working life just working harder when it got hard- until the eventual burnout from every job- the personification of Orwell’s Boxer. ⁣
⁣
But this year I couldn’t. ⁣
⁣
This year I had to step away. To stand back. (By 6ft😂) ⁣
⁣
and I got SO MUCH LIVING DONE. ⁣
⁣
Projects I wanted for the shop but never had time for? Done. ⁣
Surrounding myself with a group of people that believe in Joule’s vision, and let me step away and teach my daughter? Done. ⁣
Getting “lost” in the off-the-grid high desert and camping in the beautiful emptiness? Done. ⁣
Garden boxes everywhere? Done. ⁣
⁣
I learned balance. I learned trust. I learned that I’m not alone, that I can be there for others and let them be there for me. ⁣
⁣
Sincerest thank you to the families that have let us become part of them this last year. I never would have planned it this way, but this path is way better than what I would’ve done on my own 🙏😍⁣
