This Friday, 2/27, marks 10 years since we first opened our doors! It has been a wild ride (to say the least), but we are still alive and kicking. To thank you all for your continued support, we will be doing free drip coffee all day, plus 10% off of all other food and drinks.

After talking to our employees we have decided that we will be open tomorrow, 1/30. We are encouraging people, if possible, to try and use cash for purchases. And as a way of adding to the local and national discussion, we have made a comprehensive list of all of the elected officials who represent St Johns along with their contact information. We have copies of the list, as well as some immigration rights resources, at the cafe for you to take with you or take a picture of.

We totally understand if we don’t see a lot of you tomorrow, but if you do choose to go out we will be here as the community gathering place and town hall you have allowed us to be.

It’s holiday party and gift-giving time, and we brought in a coupe of banger coffees for the occasion.

El Centro Kenia Natural is from the Central Valley of Costa Rica. It is the Kenia variety of Arabica, which means it has plenty of acidity and fruitiness, while the natural processing gives it a little bit of that funk that we crave. It will only be around for a few weeks, so grab it while you can!

Villa Betulia Honey is the second time we have had a honey processed coffee from Colombia’s Finca Villa Betulia. It is the rare Catturón variety, which is a natural mutation that was recently discovered in Colombia. This one is a total fruit and spice bomb that stands out in intensity before the coffee is even roasted. This one is so exciting we ordered a little extra to enjoy through January.

Both coffees joined our Lombard Blend and Guji Danbi Udo on our cafe shelves and our website, so there is something for everyone on your list. Enjoy!

Social media is a cesspool echo chamber that is ripping us apart. It’s also the best way small businesses have to reach customers. So let us use it to reach y’all to say we should spend less time arguing through screens and more time together. We roast and brew coffee because of its ability to help build community, and we are at our happiest when we have a packed cafe full of smiling faces - old friends meeting every day to talk crap, families getting together to reconnect, first dates, work meetings, or neighbors meeting for the first time and making connections.

Oh yeah, and we have some cool merch you can buy when you are in, have some amazing coffees lined up for you to try this holiday season, and are going to be part of the from 1-5 on Saturday the 13th.

It’s been a while since we have had one in stock, so we are pumped to have a naturally processed coffee from the Guji region of Ethiopia back in the mix. These coffees are always really popular, with a solid body and lots of fruit flavors but not a super high acidity. This is the first of the coffees we are going to be bringing in for the holidays, so start your cozy sipping now. Available in the cafes and on the website!
