Named for the owner’s great-grandmother, Mama Lucia’s offers a diverse menu ranging from traditional fare to specialty Italian dishes. The menu boasts an array of over 20 gourmet pizzas prepared in a ‘mosaic tiled’ wood-burning oven on display in the dining room. Located in the old Potsdam railroad depot constructed in the 1800s, the interior has been tastefully renovated and decorated in a ‘fun’ Italian style. The moderately priced family-style restaurant offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

In 1980, the Potsdam Train Depot was moved a short distance to accommodate a new highway bypass around downtown Potsdam. The move was a result of public pressure to preserve the historic building, which was initially slated for demolition. Today, the depot is the home of Mama Lucias.
