💙💚 A Little Update from iCreate Cafe! 🌱

We're back from our overseas trip! We were planning to reopen this week, but due to some health concerns and needing a little extra time to recover, adjust to the time difference, and get back into our kitchen routine, we've decided to take one more week off.

We will remain closed this weekend and will be back in November, refreshed and ready to start cooking all your favorite vegan dishes again! 🌿

🌱 A Syrian Voice for Animals — 1,000 Years Ago

Long before the word vegan existed, a Syrian poet and philosopher was already questioning why humans should cause suffering to animals for food.

Abu al-Ala al-Maʿarri (973–1057) was born in Maʿarrat al-Nuʿman, Syria. A celebrated poet, philosopher and scholar, he chose an extraordinarily strict plant-based way of eating—avoiding meat and even animal-derived foods—based largely on his ethical concern for other living beings.

Think about that: more than 1,000 years ago, a Syrian thinker was writing about ideas remarkably close to what we now call ethical veganism. 🌿🐄🐓

For us at iCreate Cafe, that history feels especially meaningful. We are proud to serve vegan food rooted in compassion, and proud that the idea of showing mercy toward animals has voices reaching far back into our Syrian heritage.
