A Note on Our Final Days:
Thanks so much for your support over the past 3 weeks. It means a lot to us to hear how positively you view this place.

We want to make clear to you all how our final days of operation will work. We will close our doors for the last time on Saturday, Sept. 28. Prior to that, we will continue to serve food, coffee and alcohol. We are NOT going to run out of milk, lemonade (Vampire Tonics!), cider (Sugarbeer!), coffee, or any of the ingredients for our named pizzas until the late hours on Saturday (except sun-dried tomatoes, alas). So if you want to spend time with us this weekend, know that we're going to have the vast majority of things we have always had.

On Sunday, Sept. 29, we will be around from 10am-4pm or so. We will be selling our fixtures and equipment. If you want any of it, please come by, make an offer, and preferably be ready to take the items away. We will accept cash, business checks, and in some cases, credit cards. We understand that haul away may be difficult for larger items and will make alternative arrangements, including short-term storage, where possible.

Thanks again for all your support. We hope to see you one last time. Depending on how busy we are, we might even play a game with you!

Hi, Battlegrounds community. This is Josh. I've got some bad news for you. Due to a sharp downturn in traffic and a a very challenging future outlook, I have decided to close Battlegrounds at the end of the month.

I know many of you will be very sad to hear this. It makes all of us who work at the shop sad, too. In fact, writing this note is one of the hardest things I've had to do.

To all of you who have supported, encouraged, loved, laughed, or merely spent time with us over the past 16 months, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have given me and my staff a sorely needed sense of community, and many worthwhile friendships we hope to continue into the future.

Now that I've broken the bad news, I want to point to the silver lining. You all have 3 more weeks to enjoy Battlegrounds. We're going to do a little programming, and we're going to have an incredible sale on all our geeky stuff. In other words, we're keeping up normal operations.

If you've enjoyed spending time with us, we sincerely hope you choose to do so again, while you still can. We're going to miss you.

Hello, all. I am Josh, the manager of Battlegrounds, and I am writing today to ask for your help. Amber and Chad Southerly, who run the shop with me, have recently run into some serious trouble with their dog, Koda. He has developed a scary condition known as pneumothorax, wherein air moves into his chest, outside his lungs, threatening to collapse the lungs. The issue is correctable with surgery, but will carry a heavy financial burden. If you are interested in helping, please click the link to the GoFundMe page for more details.
