Powell Development Corporation Façade Grant Spotlight: Oishii Japanese Bistro Powell, 8 N. Liberty St.🍣

We're excited to share the latest Downtown Powell improvement made possible through the Powell Development Corporation's Façade Grant Program!

Local business owner Chien Xueng, of Oishii Japanese Bistro at 8 N. Liberty St., recently completed a fresh exterior repainting project supported by a $7,965 façade grant. The 50% matching grant program helps local building owners and businesses invest in beautifying and revitalizing Downtown Powell's commercial buildings.

Chien is an accomplished restaurateur with several successful dining ventures across central Ohio including multiple restaurants in Delaware, one here in Powell, and partnerships in numerous restaurants nationwide.

While the Powell Development Corporation has a backlog of Façade Grants through 2026, we look forward to opening applications again in 2027. Stay tuned for future opportunities to enhance Powell's downtown charm.✨

While things have been hectic lately...
we have been hunkered down and hard at work...
And we've been able to start the soft opening for our SECOND LOCATION!

Chef Dennis and all are still setting up, so please come see us, give us feedback, and enjoy an expanded menu at 2333 N High St in the University District!

As we've learned from the people of Powell, word of mouth works best for getting our food out there to be enjoyed! If you've enjoyed our food, we humbly ask you to please spread the word!

Football season is in full swing!
To celebrate, we have a Special sushi roll as long as the Buckeyes are in--called the Buckeye Roll, of course!

It is a deep fried roll with avocado and cream cheese with warm, baked spicy crab on top and a touch of sriracha. At $13.50, it's a STEAL! (get it?)

We also always have the game on, and if we don't feel free to ask us!

Come on in and try it as long as the Buckeyes are still in!

We were lucky to get a great cut--in fact, the nicest we have had so far!
Fact: One reason we do not always have uni is because it tends to go bad before it is all gone. If you're an uni lover, please do come and try it this weekend!
