Yesterday, as I was leaving my restaurant, I witnessed the scene of a fatal accident near the interstate overpass. Today, I learned that the person who lost his life was the husband of a close friend of mine. That hurt my heart dearly. 💔
Fast forward to tonight, as we were preparing to close, I received word that one of my cashiers, my sweet Kaite, had been involved in an accident in that SAME area! When I looked to my left and saw all those emergency lights, MY HEART DROPPED!
I jumped in my vehicle, made it as far as Chevron, and took off RUNNING! I know somebody was probably wondering, “WHO IS THIS LADY IN AN APRON RUNNING DOWN THIS OVERPASS?!” BABY, IT WAS ME!
I ran until I got to my girl! Her parents were already there, and THANK GOD she was okay! Shaken up, but okay!
Now, once I knew she was safe, I almost threw up! Because FIRST OF ALL, I didn’t even know I could run that fast OR that far! Adrenaline is SOMETHING ELSE! I think I hugged that baby a hundred times!
Kaite is one of the sweetest, most genuine young ladies you’ll ever meet, and stylish too, I might add! ❤️ I love my employees, and tonight reminded me just how deeply I care about each of them.
Something HAS to be done about that overpass! We NEED a traffic light or some type of safety improvement before more lives are affected!
PLEASE, y’all, pay attention, wear your seatbelts, and stay vigilant! Kaite had hers on, and I’m so thankful she did!
Thank you to the Pine Level Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers, and everyone who responded so quickly! And thank you to the sweet person who captured this photo of us and sent it to me. ❤️
Tonight, I’m grateful, emotional, and still trying to catch my breath. Please keep my friend and her family, along with every family affected by these accidents, lifted in prayer. 🙏🏽
Through it ALL, GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL! ❤️
Hug your people. Tell them you love them. And PLEASE be safe out there! ❤️🙏🏽
