🍦❤️ Throwback to 1990… where the love story and the ice cream tradition were already going strong!

Before the fancy ice cream trailer, before the festivals, before the long lines of customers, and before was even a thought… there was Mom and Dad, making homemade ice cream together. ❤️

Who would’ve thought that 36 years later, these two would be traveling all over, serving up homemade ice cream and turning a family tradition into something bigger than they ever imagined?!

Different decade, different equipment, but the same two people and the same love for homemade ice cream. ❤️

And if you know my dad, you know that once he gets an idea in his head, there’s no stopping him! 😂

From making ice cream together in 1990 to living out Dad’s dream in 2026. 🍦❤️

🍦❤️ AND JUST LIKE THAT… THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR 2026 FOOD VENDOR ADVENTURE!! ❤️🍦

What a FIRST year it has been!! 🥹 One for the books, that’s for sure!!

Per usual, THANK YOU, CARIBOU!! And thank you to everyone from the surrounding towns who showed up today and every other time we rolled into town this summer!

Whether today was your very first time trying Dad’s homemade ice cream or you became one of our regulars whose order we practically had ready before you even made it to the window, please know how much we appreciate each and every one of you. ❤️

But I want to put something into perspective for a minute.

Because of YOU, a Grampy got to spend his summer at home. 🥹

Instead of spending his days and nights over the road trucking, missing out on time with his family, he got to spend his summer doing something he has dreamed about for years. He got to be the town’s ice cream man. He got to work alongside his family, make memories with his grandchildren, meet new people, and turn something that started with his own dad, Grampy Pudgie, into something bigger than he probably ever imagined.

And to me? That right there is worth more than a million dollars. ❤️

You didn’t just support a small family business this summer. You supported a dad’s dream, a grandfather’s happiness, and a family tradition that means more to us than words could ever explain.

From our little hometown appearances to traveling across state lines, from familiar faces to complete strangers who quickly became friends, this first season has given us memories we will carry for a lifetime.

We’ve learned a lot, laughed a lot, probably drove each other a little crazy (okay, maybe a LOT 🤣), and made some pretty incredible friendships along the way.

And something tells me Dad is just getting started. 👀

Who knows what Parker McLaughlin has up his sleeve for next year?! Lord knows the rest of us probably won’t know until he’s already halfway through making it happen! 😂

But one thing is for certain…

I mean, COME ON… 61 degrees in OCTOBER?! In NORTHERN MAINE?! We might as well break out the shorts and flip-flops! 😂🩴

And what better way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon than swinging by the Caribou Rec Center and treating yourself to a delicious dish of Dad’s homemade ice cream?! 🍦

This year has been nothing short of incredible. From the little boy who grew up making homemade ice cream with his dad, to the man who turned his dream of owning an ice cream trailer into reality, to becoming Aroostook County’s very own ice cream man… 🥹❤️
